Before his wine career began in earnest, Cameron Tyler studied computer science and business at California State University Fullerton and UCLA. His first experience in hospitality was with the Spectrum Restaurant Group, an experience that sparked his passion for fine dining and ultimately led to a position at The Cellar Restaurant and Spirit Room in Fullerton, CA. There he worked as maitre d’ and oversaw the restaurant’s award-winning cellar. Cameron later accepted a management position at Studio, the flagship restaurant at the Montage Laguna Beach where he helped the restaurant achieve a Wine Spectator Grand Award.
Cameron is currently the Lead Sommelier at Lindsay and Chef Michael Tusk’s Michelin three-star restaurant Quince. Cameron’s presence has led to a near doubling of the restaurant’s wine holdings and to the development of a rare and fine wine pairing program that showcases back vintages and coveted producers which serve to complement the contemporary Californian cuisine of Chef Tusk.
